When to Invest in Videos as a Marketing Strategy

When is the best time to invest in video?

I see lots of people making their own videos on LinkedIn which I highly encourage, but the question is, when do I take a marketing budget and pay someone to help me. I would say there's two times.

  1. When you're just getting started. Yes you can do everything yourself but why would you? You can learn all the mistakes the hard way and take forever in creating your own videos for your business, or you can partner with a video production company or professional and learn from their mistakes. Then it is perfectly acceptable to take what you've learned from your tips and keep making your own videos on the cheap. Experiment, try creating videos around different topics and see what is actually working for your personality and for your company.

  2. The second time to invest in video production services is when you start getting traction. Traction could mean a variety of things but ideally if you're marketing B2B, it's when you get that first lead or first sale from one of your videos. Once you see the sign that it's working, triple your efforts and take some work off of your plate.

You're always going to know the most about your business but you don't really want to become a company and a video production company.

Find someone to outsource the time consuming editing and motion graphics work and free yourself up to do what you do best. Video makers out there, I would love to hear from you.

How much time and money have you invested in your videos over the years. What has paid off more? The time investment or the money

investment, or the combination?

I would really love to hear it from you.
